My Home Business Venture
Ok, so today will be my official day to work on the research so that i could start on my home business. I was talking to my friend, Jean, yesterday and told her about ‘my brilliant idea’ setting up my own home business venture. And she asked me why do I want to work from home?
So basically after i got off the hook with her, i went online and came across the advantages of working from home.
I came up with a few benefits which I thought applies to me:
The exciting part to start your own home internet business is that I have the flexibility to work whenever and wherever I want. Being a working mummy from home, I can shape my own life and career without having to worry too much about rigid working hours to follow and no corporate culture to abide. And the best thing is that i can learn a lot being a solo entreprenuer. It may sound like a heavier workload but I am willing to take this as a learning point.
Secondly is to reap financial benefits. Having two kids and my passion for shopping, I must admit I do spend quite a bit. Therefore, here’s another reason why I want to gain financial Independence without depending too much on my husband . Other than that, by having my office just a few steps from my bed saves me time and fuel. I do not have to wake up early to go through the pain of hours stuck in the jam or the crowd in the subway. Considering that fuel is so expensive these days, imagine how much it is going to burn while sitting in the car? With lesser time commuting, there is more time available to dedicate myself to work. Not only that, it adds to a lot of savings which can be beneficial for the family. There is also no need to worry what to wear to work. No need to buy power suits that cost hundreds of dollars; instead I can work wearing pajamas and bunny slippers because nobody cares how you look.
Thirdly is to be close with the family. Those parents who have a 9 to 5 job may know that how little time they have with their loved ones during weekdays. I have experienced that before, because 2 years ago I still hold a regular job which needs me to work overtime at times. I missed Annabel and Connor (my son & daughter) so much and couldn’t wait to go home and see them. And by the time I got home, their nan-na had already put them to bed. It was really stressful dealing with work, and family.There are only limited time spent with them and I always felt I needed more. Then one day, my husband suggested that I should be a work-at-home mummy. I agreed to it immediately! My reason is to strengthen my relationship with my kids and husband and and what’s more my kids at this age needs my attention.
People like me who chooses to opt out from hectic lifestyles, may want to consider about starting their own business at home..unless they don’t mind crows feet forming around their eyes at young age or having those sleepness nights thinking about their 9 to 5 job…
Of course, you may need a lot more information than that to get you started. This is why I am blogging. I am sure with this home business venture of mine, i will be facing a lot of obstacles (such as internet scams and hoaxes, time management tips, setting a marketing plan). Anyway, whatever ups and downs i faced while starting this home business of mine, you will read it through this blog. I will also share my home business start up tips with all work at home mums or people who are thinking about starting their own online business at home.
